What’s new?

Kim & I are now proud owners of a home in Ferndale. We closed the deal on the house on Monday. I think I signed my name on about 1500 different papers during a whole three hour marathon closing session. I had to endure the half the session with horrible pain in my jaw from my tooth situation (more on that situation in a second). Either way we now own the house and have been spending the evenings moving a few things over to the house and painting. We'll be out of the rental house entirely and into our new home by the end of this month.

So, I’ve spent most of the month of August in absolute agony with tooth problems. The first week of August I started having a tooth ache that swelled into a tooth infection which resulted in oral surgery last Thursday. I had all of my wisdom teeth removed plus the molar that the right lower wisdom tooth was impacted against. So, that’s a total of five teeth. I was put under IV sedation. It took me a couple of days to recover from that and then I had the joy of the infection persisting through out the weekend and up through until now where the infection is finally subsiding. I’ve been left with a feeling like someone hit me in the face with a brick. I’m still on a course of antibiotics for a few more days. I’ve been taking so much Naproxin and Ibupropen that I’m worried those OTC painkillers will never work again. Overall, it’s been one of the worse medical experiences in my life and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. If anyone wants me to speak to their kids about the dangers of ignoring dental problems I’m available and motivated.

A few years ago I had to have all four wisdom teeth removed at once, it was also probably my worst medical experience. They put cloves in the holes where my teeth used to be, and they would always come out and get infected. Plus I puffed out like Paula Cole.
Hope you feel better!

On a better note, its good to hear you guys got a house. Congrats!

I hope to avoid the cloves in the sockets thing. I've heard nothing but bad and painful stories about that.

I know alllll about wisdom teeth pain.
I went to the ER last night, just to get some relief of pain killers and a possible infection. I just want my teeth out! Boo for no insurance.

Watch that infection. The right side of my face was swelled up like a baloon up until Tuesday. It's almost back to normal now, but it's still painful to the touch.
